Renewed Or Cancelled?
The Pentaverate is the latest comedy series on Netflix, a project that sees Mike Myers back in the driving seat and playing 8 different personalities across the 6 episodes. This series has been quite the turbulent ride, but after that ending you may be wondering whether this one has been renewed or not.
What is The Pentaverate about?
The Pentaverate is essentially a comedy series revolving around conspiracy theories and fake news. Specifically, we center on a secret society which was born to influence world events. Thrown into this mix is an unlikely Canadian journalist who becomes embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and possibly save the world himself. Has The Pentaverate been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, The Pentaverate has not been renewed for a second season. Given the conclusiveness of that ending, it would seem like a done deal. Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. So far, The Pentaverate has had a rather mixed reception from both critics and audiences alike, although many skew further toward disliking this one rather than loving it. Based on the ending and the mixed reception from audiences, it’s fair to say this one will not be returning for a follow-up.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. The conclusion is also pretty final, although one could argue that there’s more in the pipeline for some of these characters to engage in a spin-off or a sequel set during a different time period. This could allow for a surprise renewal on the cards but it seems very highly unlikely.
