Penultimate Clone Problems
Episode 7 of Living With Yourself cuts back one week earlier after new Miles picks up a black hood and tries it on. Kate and new Miles share drinks together on their first date before Kate invites him along to the design conference. Unable to concentrate at work, new Miles constantly checks his phone before heading out midway through a meeting to see Kate. Desperate to please his wife, after making love he makes her breakfast in bed before handing her tickets to Paris to rekindle their passion. It’s all too much for her though and his clinginess gets to her and she rejects his advances. Completely flawless, Kate just can’t go through with new Miles’ proposal and he walks out, distraught. Five days later we see new Miles heading to the diner, trying to make sense of his life. It turns out Dan has been fired and as they head outside together, new Miles takes Dan for a ride, showing him the buried bodies in the ground. Here, he reveals the truth before snapping and deciding to take drastic measures. As he arrives at Miles’ house and looks over the array of tools in his boot, including a revolver, he looks up to see old Miles being taken away. How did the Koreans move all the bodies into the middle of the woods? Wouldn’t someone arouse suspicion? These were two of the big questions I had while watching this episode and unfortunately these are questions that are never really resolved. Perhaps if this is renewed for a second season we may receive answers but for now, Living With Yourself abandons this in favour of a much more straight forward slice of drama. Still, there’s enough here to make for an intriguing watch none the less and quite where the finale will go from here remains to be seen. For now though, there’s plenty of questions left hanging over this one and everything is left hanging in the balance for the finale.
