He’s on a secret mission on Earth but finds himself wrestling with his own moral confliction over this. There are plenty of funny jokes, lots of intriguing twists and turns, while Harry’s arrogance works really well to personify his character....

Rolling Thunder Rolling Thunder Revue is a fascinating and difficult film to nail down. It’s not quite a music documentary, nor does it play out like a straight forward concert show. It’s not a historical documentary either but somehow Martin Scorsese manages to take the best elements from these different genres and blend them together, delivering a tumultuous re-imagining of the 1970’s and the story of a concert that spread itself across America before fading into obscurity....

Episode Guide SEIYA Burn Your Cosmo Enter The Dragon Nebula Chain The Black Knights Phoenix Rising Acting as a remake of the beloved anime franchise of the same name, Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac takes the original idea for the series, adds some glossy CGI into a fleeting 6 episode series with mixed results. The story does reasonably well to adapt the characters and ideas but the animation feels jarring and lacking heart compared to the original 2D counterparts....

Journey’s End Episode 4 of Save Me Too begins with truths being revealed. It turns out Gideon promised Grace £1000 if she sat in the caravan waiting for Nelly with chains around her ankle. As she relays this story to Nelly, we see her stabbing Gideon numerous times after he scoffs at the idea of giving her the money he promised. In the morning, Grace packs her things and leaves while Zita tells Nelly he needs to leave too, especially given she doesn’t want her son Samson exposed to this anymore....

For these people, the words “Bah Humbug” probably won’t be too far away from their lips, especially when they become irritated by the excitement of neighbours and co-workers who are brimming over with the Christmas spirit! If they dare to grumble, they may even stand accused of being like Scrooge, probably by somebody wearing a big red hat and a Rudolf-emblazoned jumper! Some of us can probably relate to the grumpy old moneylender anyway, not because we are greedy like he is but because we might relate to his reasons for hating Christmas....

Se7en Plot Synopsis Written by David Fincher, Se7en is a simple but bleak crime thriller, centering on two detectives – a rookie and a veteran – who work together to hunt a serial killer. This killer is using the seven deadly sins as his motives, going after those he deems need to be treated a lesson. Unfortunately, this brilliant mastermind has his own ideas on how to end this deadly game, and as Mills and Somerset dive deeper into the truth, they soon realize that this could well involve both their lives....

Penultimate Problems See is a show I’m quickly losing patience with. Between the gorgeous visuals and bites of action, there just isn’t a whole lot going on here worth getting excited about. Haniwa and Kofun lack much charisma, feeling very archetypal in their roles, while the slow pace and attempt to introduce new mythological elements does little to really sell the world this late in the game. After 7 episodes we’re still left with plenty of plot holes and questions, and I can’t see how that will be resolved in next week’s finale....

A slow-burn that goes nowhere Settlers is not a sci-fi flick. It’s not a particularly gripping, exciting or action-packed thriller and instead feels closer to Nomadland in its intention. Instead of that slow-paced Best picture winner, Settlers feels devoid of plot. It’s a movie that seems to have something to say but doesn’t quite manifest that into a coherent screenplay. With no expository text or explanation as to what’s going on, Settlers encourages and challenges audiences to come up with their own explanation....

An intense Japanese classic Seven Samurai is an epic samurai drama, set in the latter half of the 16th century during the Sengoku period of Japanese history. This was a period of near-constant civil wars and social upheaval from 1467 to 1615, which finally ended with the final unification of Japan under the Great Unifier, Tokugawa Ieyasu when he scored a decisive victory in the Battle of Sekigahara. As the name suggests, it is about seven samurai who are hired by a village plagued by bandits....

A Beautiful & Varied World Back for another week, Seven Worlds, One Planet returns for an hour of jaw-dropping visuals in David Attenborough’s latest BBC series. This week we’re in South America, a continent rich with wildlife. With more insight into the deforestation issue in the region and plenty of tonal shifts throughout, this nature documentary continues to deliver the goods with some truly awe-inspiring shots of the continent. We begin with puma in the stunning backdrop of the mountainous Andes....

Shantaram Episode 12 Shantaram is based on the epic book by Gregory David Roberts, and is quite the wild ride. For those unaware, the plot centers on a heroin addict incarcerated for a robbery, who escapes prison and reinvents himself as a doctor in the slums of Bombay. In doing so, this also gives him ties to the criminal underworld and eventually on to Afghanistan, where our protagonist, Lin, partners with a mob boss locked in a battle of his own....

Should I Watch Bridgerton? Maybe. Believe it or not, Bridgerton was watched by 82 million households within its first month of release. Despite its overwhelming popularity, this period drama brings with it some narrative problems, hidden behind absolutely gorgeous costume design. This isn’t a conventional period drama though, instead blending elements of Gossip Girl and Downtown Abbey together across a story that takes place in a re-imagined 1800’s England. This feels more like a pantomime than an outright depiction of England during that time....

Fear Weights 10,000 Tons Episode 3 of Sky Rojo Season 2 begins with our three girls stuck in their car. With the cement ready to set, the girls work together to use a lighter to burn off their binds. They then use a drill to pound away at the cement but it’s no good, the battery soon dies. Romeo believes that he’s won already and sets up a celebratory party back at the club....

The Red Thread What does the red thread mean? There’s drama abound after the tragic New Year’s Eve party. Although Albert and Nuria renewed their vows (and their fiery passion for one another), it’s less happy for most of our characters. Javier finds himself alone after Ramiro left, Bruno and Ramon are a mess after the former called his partner “tasteless beer”, and Alex is lost at sea. He’s with Ibra but clearly his heart lies elsewhere....

The Director’s Daughter Episode 6 of Snowdrop starts with Tae-il sanctioning Plan B, which entails eliminating all the North Korean spies. Soo-ho orders his men back into the passageway and rearms the boobytrap across its entrance. The surrounding ANSP agents are about to barge in when Chang-su terminates the operation. Gang-mu had been using the chaos to lead the hostages out of the cafeteria, but they’re intercepted by Comrade Joo’s return....

Snowdrop Episode 11 Snowdrop is the first Disney+ exclusive K-drama, and it’s quite the controversial one, ruffling feathers with Korean citizens and reportedly being rewritten several times over the months. The story is set in 1987, deep within the period of history where South Korea was governed by a dictatorial government. When grad student Soo-Ho is hidden in Hosu Women’s University by Eun Yeong-Ro, a forbidden romance between the two blossoms, with complications occurring when shocking details about Soo-Ho are revealed....

Justice Never Boarded Back for another week, Snowpiercer returns for the follow-up slice of crime drama after LJ’s imprisonment for the death of Sean. With everything gearing up for the tribunal that grips the latter periods of the episode, things predictably take a turn for the worse and with it, threats of all hell breaking loose in the upcoming episodes. Episode 5 of Snowpiercer begins with Layton stuck in the drawer and haunted by weird dreams....

Somebody Somewhere Episode 3 Somebody Somewhere is a pretty compelling slice of life drama, oddly categorized as a comedy. While there are funny moments here, the show works a lot better as a thoughtful dramedy. The story centers on Sam, a true Kansan but struggling to fit in. Grappling with loss and acceptance, along with finding her place in the world, Sam slowly starts to discover herself thanks to her friend Joel at work who encourages her not to give up on life....
