Poco a Poco, Slowly, Gradually We begin episode 2 of Do You Like Brahms in the past. The Summer of 2013 to be precise. Song-A and Dong-Yoon both sit together in a cafe. While one says they’ll quit, the other says they’ll major in music. He confirms he’ll stand by her side no matter what and promises to root for her. With violin lessons a financial issue and her not able to find a tutor yet, Dong-Yoon volunteers his own services to help her learn....

Tyme Patrol Episode 2 of Doom Patrol Season 2 begins with us jumping back to 1927 where we see that very same circus but this time from Nile Caulder’s perspective. Upon seeing Niles in the audience, Dorothy’s sprite glows red and after slaughtering everyone, leaves him alive. Two years later Dorothy has barely aged a day, prompting Niles to turn to Danny for help. As we jump back to the present, Niles speaks to Cliff about Dorothy and how he traded his longevity and life for them all to be free....

The Donkey Holds The Key Given the way Doom Patrol set itself up last week for a dramatic follow-up, it was always going to be interesting to see if DC’s latest superhero show would match the intensity of its pilot episode. Despite a slightly rocky start full of swearing, Doom Patrol quickly settles down and delivers an impressive episode that somehow surpasses what’s come before. With deeper characterisation, some clever narration and a self-contained story nestled around the overarching plot, Doom Patrol continues to be one of the biggest surprises this year....

It’s Going To Happen Again A little girl called Astrid begins episode 1 of Equinox as she hears distant rumbling outside and hurries out to catch a glimpse of the Graduation bus. Onboard is her sister Ida who certainly isn’t in the cheering mood. She heads inside and winds up in a heated argument with her Mother, Lene. There’s fragments of something bigger here, but as Astrid listens from the doorway she can’t make out the crux of the issue....

Welcome To The Panic Room Despite flaunting a concept that’s been done numerous times before, Escape Room’s ingenious puzzles and tense plot make for a really absorbing watch. Although there’s a cliffhanger ending here used to tease a sequel and some clichéd tropes along the way, Escape Room does well to keep things interesting, picking out the best parts of the Saw franchise and the first Cube film. Armed with some decent special effects and some much-needed back story for our dysfunctional group of characters, Escape Room is one of the better efforts in this genre....

Twin Flames Episode 4 of Eve starts with La-El liaising with her “mother” Jang Moon-Hee once more. They discuss the hierarchical way LY Group operate, with specific emphasis on how Yoon-Kyum’s future is still very tenuous. We also learn that Yoon-Kyum’s mother has been hospitalized for the last seven years following a stroke. La-El continues to work with So-Ra, and part of that comes from recruiting Congressman Eun-Pyeong to her cause....

Dr Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers) navigates professional and personal problems. She teams up with a priest-in-training for the Catholic church called David Acosta (Mike Colter). There’s also Ben Shakir (Asaif Mandvi), whose expertise with technology counteracts that of David’s spirituality. Of course, these individual characters have their own overarching stories too that help tie everything together....

Hiding The Evidence The penultimate episode to Family Business sees all the characters moved in alignment, ready for the season finale. As all the characters charge toward the ultimate prize, one final hurdle stands in their way. The episode starts with Gerard taking part in a home makeover show, organised by Enrico. Back at the country house, they all worry about the police activity around the farm and the smell the plants are creating....

More Remix Than Remake Final Fantasy VII is one of the best roleplaying games of all time. It’s a title that brought the JRPG genre to Western audiences in a big way and introduced large numbers of players to a style of game mainstream audiences hadn’t really experienced before 1996. With a pitch-perfect story, some wonderful show-don’t-tell elements and an action packed adventure full of interesting themes, FF7 grew to become a worldwide phenomenon....

After wrapping up the shot, they head over to Kate’s family’s fourth of July party. Kate finally gets her first kiss and is disappointed that she was Eugene’s second choice after Tully turned him down. She gets mad at Tully and her anger is doubled when Lisa decides to snitch about Tully and Sean sleeping together. Kate is not the only one who is feeling blue at the party, Cloud is also having a hard time dealing with the judgmental moms at the party....

Despite the frequent jokes that rarely hit the mark, I did find myself laughing at a few that did. ‘Fist Fight’ is a strange one to review because, while there are some funny moments here, they’re so few and far between it hardly seems worth it. The mariachi band and a few well timed character jokes are the stand out here in a comedy that tries, and ultimately fails, to tell a story about standing up for yourself despite the odds....

Dual Lives A man is tied up, bloodied and drowning; Flower Of Evil wastes little time in episode 1 setting the tone and mood for this latest tvN drama. This is a dark, deliciously twisted little murder mystery that puts its murderer front and center for all to see. While there’s not much in the way of action set-pieces, the show more than makes up for that with some smart cut-aways and intriguing foundation-setting for the show ahead....

Framed Episode 13 of Flower Of Evil begins with a flashback to late Summer in 1997. Hee-Sung stands at the top of a rooftop and drops a brick to the ground below. As he’s questioned over why he did this, he feigns tears and has his mother brought in to vouch for him. As Hee-Sung is told to leave, he starts smirking. This also happens to be the first time he met Min-Seok from the looks of it, as he talks to the boy about what he did....
